“One day I left the physics lab but I have never stopped researching…
and among my researches there’s also textile art and costumes design. Because of my great passion for dancing and performance art, I started to create costumes by myself. This led me to choose soft and comfortable fabrics such as stretchy viscose, cotton and other elastic materials. Later on these dance costumes became very minimalistic dresses to also wear in my daily life. I consider working with fabrics as a real artistic action, free from every rigid technique and schemes as in my other artistic expressions. I’m not a seamstress, I don’t use pre-designed patterns, I don’t draw anything beforehand. I’m only alone with my fabrics, a mannequin and a pair of scissors. Taking inspirations from colours and the kind of fabrics I come across. With my emotions in the moment, I start to cut and create the dress. In this way, every dress is different from the other. Even if they have the same design, they are always different. They have asymmetrical parts, different cuts, different lengths and some imperfections. They’re all unique and original handmade pieces and are all part of my artistic gesture.
So every time you wear my dress, you wear a piece of my art…”
